LITTLE THEATRE, an OBIE-winning monthly performance showcase at Dixon Place founded 15 years ago, is an intimate showcase for experimental performance outside of commercial considerations. Little Theatre is intentionally free-form and interdisciplinary. Shows currently consist of four 15-minute pieces. Little Theatre favors work-in-process as opposed to excerpts of finished work. Guest speakers: Curators Jeffrey Jones, Normandy Sherwood & Frank Boudreaux.
THIS/THAT is a newly founded bi-monthly evening of surprising performance hosted by a house band at The Brick Theater. With the tenants of inclusivity and eclecticism, each event features a lottery, to eschew curatorial authority, in which 3-4 artists are chosen to perform throughout the evening. The series intends to bridge the myriad NYC art and performance communities (uptown/downtown, visual/aural, experimental/traditional, textual/physical, etc.) in an unpredictable and inviting forum.
