Alicia Rodis is an intimacy director, fight director, SAG-AFTRA stunt performer, and actor with over 20 years in the entertainment industry. Her experience as an actor and fight choreographer led her into the direction of romantic, sexual, and highly suggestive scenes. She is an Intimacy Director, and founding member of Intimacy Directors International (www.intimacydirectorsinternational.com) where she and her colleagues have been working with other directors, psychologists, social workers, and other professionals to codify a system of best practices to address scenes of intimacy in a safe and effective manner. Since then, she has been advising best practices and sexual harassment prevention for theatre and film internationally. Alicia’s work has been seen at New York University, New York Shakespeare Exchange, AMDA NYC, Cincinnati Conservatory of Music, Wright State University, Gannon College, Michigan State, and PACE University, among others.
Alicia is currently a Guest Artist at Juilliard School of Drama implementing their intimacy program for both students and faculty. She is advising for SAG-AFTRA, is a stunt advisor for the NYU film department, and is the first Intimacy Director to be contracted at Yale School of Drama and Juilliard. She is a Certified Teacher with the Society of American Fight Directors, and is an adjunct professor at Long Island University.
