HB Art of Directing is a hands-on course that gives new Directors a chance to with Playwrights. The collaboration between director and playwright on the development of a new play in process requires communication, curiosity, and a deeply cultivated understanding of the writer’s intentions and modes of expression. A successful collaboration creates a bond of trust that can lead to other ventures.

HB Studio’s programs are supported in part by public funds from the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature, the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs, in partnership with the City Council, and many generous supporters.
