For first day of class: Please choose 2-3 minutes from a play written in the past 70 years, highlighting a character that you feel you would be cast to play. It can be a monologue, or a scene where one character is particularly dominant. You do no need to have it fully memorized but it must be clear you worked to break down the scene and rehearsed as if you were going to audition with this material.
Please also identify the first scene you would like to work on during the six week class, preferably (but not exclusively) by Arthur Miller, Tennessee Williams, Susan Lori Parks, Sarah Ruhl, Richard Greenberg. There will be two scenes completed by each student at the end of the 6 week session.
