About the HB Performance Lab

This HB Performance Lab tackles the collaborative process of devised theater, taps into the full potential of the elements of the stage for story-telling, and explores its potential for the re-imagining of classic plays.

The artists use their bodies, languages, dialects and accents to build a multi-language, experimental, hybrid theatrical performance celebrating diversity, theater, and investigating the central themes of the play: education and democracy. They explore the ways Ibsen’s play resonates in our time, reimagining and reexamining the text and its staging through 21st Century lenses of race, gender, culture, and more. Learn more.
