Join us as we share the fruits of Paul Pryce’s Summer Performance Lab. Participating actors have interviewed several individuals out on the frontlines of this double pandemic. The actors have been tasked to find a story that resonates with them and which sheds light on their personal experience with the coronavirus or the protests for racial injustice and equality.
The Interview Project is an exercise in acute observation, imitation and ultimately the interpretation of an individual with the end goal being; the complete immersion of one human being (the actor) into the skin, experience and experience of another (the interviewee). The task isn’t just about mimicking physical mannerisms, even though this is a core component of the exercise, the Interview Project is more a process of finding your way of inhabiting the person whom you are interviewing. To personalize their thoughts, habitual behaviors and experiences as your own and to bring that experience from these to the virtual stage.
