Shakespeare's MACBETH

Presented by Jonathan Lynn

To be held online over Zoom:

In this workshop for advanced and professional actors we will work on playing Shakespeare with truth and clarity. Using Macbeth as our text, we’ll explore how the structure of Shakespeare’s language — its music — supports the action and intent.

Lead by prolific director/writer Jonathan Lynn (CLUE; MY COUSIN VINNY; THE WHOLE NINE YARDS; YES, MINISTER). “…one of the best learning experiences I’ve ever had…by the end of the workshop I had lost almost all of the inhibitions I came in with. That was due strictly to Johnathan’s care and approach… I’m now auditioning for Shakespeare, which is something I’ve not done in the past. I would take any class that Johnathan teaches. He has the unique ability to see each student’s strengths and weaknesses and address both accordingly.” – Tom Morwick, MACBETH workshop participant

“Great teacher, unheralded in his clear, patient, and pointed direction. A great man to learn from. He is not pretentious in any way… and just goes with what is practical, and workable. He meets everyone where they are, which to me is the sign of a great teacher.” – Richard Weber, MACBETH workshop participant
