What’s in a commercial voice over reel anyway?
Theresa Buchheister and Ryan William Downey will guide you down the path to creating your own, unique commercial voice over reel over the course of 5 weeks. It is not easy to find all the right pieces! They will start by leading you through a research process, building a strong base of content that only you could build. Then, they will help you sift through the material to find the keepers. Lastly, they will help you shape the pieces that you keep, landing on the strongest reads and most effective placement within the reel. At the end of the 5 weeks you will have enough prepared material to record a reel that is distinctly you.
About the instructors: Theresa Buchheister is a director and performer in the wide world of Voice Over in New York City, who has directed hundreds of audiobooks (HOW MUSIC WORKS by David Byrne; THE PERKS OF BEING A WALLFLOWER), English dubs of cartoons including POKÉMON, THE WINX CLUB, ROBOCAR POLI, and many video games. As a voice performer, Theresa has narrated audiobooks including THE COAL ELF CHRONICLES by Maria DeVivo and JUDGE’S GIRLS by Sharina Harris, adult audioerotica, and many textbooks. Voice Over actor Ryan William Downey has been heard on podcasts, audiobooks, in many plays and, most notably, on POKÉMON film and television series playing a variety of characters.
