For playwrights who have a working craft, this advanced workshop focuses primarily on content, structure and criticism. It offers a place to try out skills and develop new material. The emphasis is on writing and rewriting scenes, one-act and full-length plays, with class readings as the goal. You present works in progress at the end of the term and selected 10-minute projects may be shown in an annual short play festival.
Participants in Julie McKee’s Fall 2018 class may be selected to have work developed and shown in collaboration with a director as part of Pat Golden‘s Director’s New Play Lab. Decisions regarding assignment and selection of the End-of-Term Projects are at the discretion of instructors, based on the merit of the work in class, and are by no means guaranteed. Presentations will take place at 7PM on Saturday & Sunday, November 10 & 11, in the HB Playwrights Theatre.
