For non-native English speakers. A mixed-level course for actors both new to the topic as well as those who have experience with the material. For actors who wish to improve their pronunciation of American English, this course addresses the sounds and concepts that challenge foreign speakers of all backgrounds. With individual attention in each class, you will become aware of the structure of your own accent and learn methods for altering it, so you can speak with ease in American English. Topics covered include vowels, consonants, and intonation, and for the advanced student may include elision, subtleties of vowel distribution and realization, and formal and informal registers.
