Michael Dansicker is a musical director, composer, arranger, pianist and orchestrator.

Mr. Dansicker was Music Supervisor for the launch of THE DISNEY CRUISE LINE and created THE STUDIO SEVEN for DISNEYWORLD, KISS ME KATE (DC Shakespeare and Seattle Fifth Avenue / Dance Music), wrote/scored new Dance Music for PAJAMA GAME at ARENA STAGE (D.C) and new incidental music for CAMELOT (D.C. Shakespeare). His musical score for COMEDY OF ERRORS (The Shakespeare Theatre) was presented in fall 2018 and will be revived summer 2020.

Concert Dance: Michael has composed, arranged, and scored material for Jerome Robbins, Twyla Tharp, Agnes de Mille, American Ballet Theater, Kenny Ortega’s American Dance, The Joffrey, Geoffrey Holder, Mikhail Baryshnikov, Jerry Mitchell, Susan Stroman, Casey Nicholaw, Warren Carlisle, Tommy Tune and Donald McKayle.

Publications: He has published over 30 music folios/recordings for Hal Leonard Music, including the bestselling SIXTEEN BAR THEATER AUDITION (8 volumes); TUNES FOR TEENS; DISNEY SONGS FOR KIDS and AUDITION SONGS FOR KIDS.

Original Material: Mr. Dansicker recently wrote the songs for PLAY BALL with Martin Charnin, which opened in Cooperstown, NYC in May 2019, prior to National Tour. He has written the songs for GOTTA TRY (CHICKEN SOUP FOR THE SOUL), licensed by R & H Music Library. His songs have been performed in recent seasons by The Gay Mens Chorus of Boston, San Francisco, Hartford, Washington DC, and Knoxville. His newest musical A BFA IN MUSICAL THEATER played a 6 week run in NYC in Fall 2019. His Boogie Woogie opera Swing Shift was produced by The Manhattan Theater Club and 20 FINGERS, 20 TOES! was produced by the WPA Theater and The York Theater. BOBBY DRISCHOLL and MR. AND MRS. BROADWAY were directed by David Zippel in concert readings at The York Theater.

Musical Director: Over a dozen Broadway productions and National Tours including GREASE, SHENANDOAH, MAN OF LA MANCHA, MEET ME IN ST. LOUIS, AIN’T BROADWAY GRAND, THE GOODBYE GIRL and stock productions at every major theater in the U.S.: The Muny, Houston TUTS, Atlanta TOTS, Goodman, Arena Stage, Casa Mañana, Bonfils, and more.

Workshops: Broadway Musical Supervisor for THE SOUND OF MUSIC (Frankel and Viertel); TRIUMPH OF LOVE (Roundabout); CARNIVAL (Disney); PAL JOEY (Weisler).

Events/Galas: Eight consecutive years for Manhattan Theater Club (Lynne Meadow); 4 consecutive years for Playwrights Horizons (Ira Weitzman); New Dramatists (7 consecutive seasons); Urban Stages; Second Stage; HB Studio; 2017 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade; dozens of events for Broadway League including all of the production shows to secure NY Olympics (Jed Bernstein); City Ballet and NYC Opera. He was arranger and Musical Supervisor for the production shows for Holland America Lines (Ellis Island Entertainment).

Educational: Mr. Dansicker started the Disney Musical Theatre Workshops at Spellman College & Fordham. He has conducted workshops and seminars at: U of Md, Catholic University of America; Otterbein; Ohio State; Cal State Fullerton; Boston Conservator (22 years); Montclair State University; Baltimore High School of Performing Arts; Coronado School of the Arts, and more.

He is a judge and adjudicator for the Gershwin Awards, the Jimmy Awards, the John Raitt Awards (LA) and the Roger Rees Award (NYC).
