TEACHING STATEMENT:

“Over the years my teaching goal has been for my students, as they learn the craft of acting, to focus not on what they can get — celebrity and money — but rather on what they can give. Living truthfully and fully the life of your character allows the audience to live through you, to feel what you feel, and thereby to receive the gift of a greater understanding of the human condition. What could be more important in the world today? Because we study, in my classes, acting as it is being filmed rather than on a stage, we must learn to adapt to the particular needs of that medium, but our basic goal should always  remain the same: to perfect our craft not for what we can get but for what we can give.”
