Ashish Pant is a filmmaker from Lucknow, a mid-size city in North India. He is based in New York where he teaches film at the College of Mount Saint Vincent. Prior to that he taught film at Tom Todoroff Acting Conservatory in New York City.
He recently completed his first feature film ULJHAN (The Knot), an Indo-French co-production, that he wrote and directed. The film has been selected in the “Goes to Cannes” section of Marche Du Film at Cannes Film Festival, 2020. The script for ULJHAN was one of the 18 projects selected by NFDC Film Bazaar, the largest co-production market for South Asian films, in 2017. The rough cut for ULJHAN was selected for the Work-In-Progress Lab at NFDC Film Bazaar in 2019.
Ashish completed his MFA in Film in screenwriting and directing from Columbia University in New York.
